College Enrollment, Cincinnati Public Schools
Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) use the National Student Clearinghouse to get an accurate account of how many graduates enroll in college. The National Student Clearinghouse is a third-party data warehouse that collects enrollment data from over 90 percent of colleges in the U.S.
The National Student Clearinghouse presents data on how many students enroll in college after high school graduation.
What It Tells Us:
The percentage of Cincinnati Public Schools graduates who enroll in college at any time during the first two years after high school is 65% in 2009, which was a 4 percentage point decrease from the previous year, but represents a 7 percentage point increase from the baseline year. In addition, the percentage of Cincinnati Public Schools graduates who enroll in college the fall immediately following graduation from college is (shown below) 53% in 2009, which was a 1 percentage point increase from the previous year and a 9 percentage point increase from the baseline year. The majority of graduates who enroll in college enroll in an Ohio institution, and the majority of those students attend University of Cincinnati.
The National Student Clearinghouse reports a number of different measures of college enrollment. Below is a grpah of the percent of high school graduates who enroll in college the fall immediately following graduation from high school as well as a list of the most common institutions of initial enrollment.

2. Cincinnati State Technical and Community College – 1942 students
3. Wright State University – 342 students
4. Northern Kentucky University – 296 students
5. The Ohio State University – 290 students
6. Central State University – OH – 213 students
7. Miami University – 173 students
8. Ohio University – 146 students
9. Xavier University – 114 students
10. University of Toledo – 106 students
