Be the Change

Be the Change is a collaborative volunteer tutor recruitment initiative led by Cincinnati Public Schools, the Strive Partnership, and United Way of Greater Cincinnati. Along with more than 30 corporate partners and several hundred community volunteers, we’re building upon our community’s commitment to education and young people, so every child has access to all the supports they need to succeed.

This year, we’ve set out to mobilize our city and place 1,000 volunteer tutors in Cincinnati Public elementary schools. Most tutors spend 30-60 minutes working one-on-one with a student, and work with the same student for the course of the school year. In most instances, tutors volunteer from 7:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m., with some after school options available from 2:30-5:30 p.m.

You can join this critical effort to keep our children engaged, succeeding in school, and set on a path for life-long learning. It only takes an hour a week.
