StriveTogether Welcomes Abby Mayer Eelsen as Vice President of Development and Advancement
StriveTogether is pleased to announce that Abby Mayer Eelsen has joined the organization as vice president of development and advancement.
In this role, Abby will lead efforts to strengthen and expand philanthropic partnerships, deepen engagement with current and prospective investors, and help build the long-term sustainability needed to advance StriveTogether’s mission of putting millions more young people on a path to economic mobility.
Abby brings more than 20 years of public education and nonprofit leadership experience, and a deep understanding of the systems, partnerships and investments required to improve outcomes for children and families. Her career began in the classroom as a teacher before moving into leadership roles within Dallas Independent School District’s central office. Most recently, she spent eight years at The Commit Partnership, one of the nation’s leading collective impact organizations and a longtime StriveTogether network partner, where she helped lead efforts to improve educational and economic outcomes across Texas.
As both a fundraising leader and a former member of the StriveTogether network, Abby brings a unique perspective to her new role — combining firsthand experience in community-based systems change with a track record of building the partnerships and resources necessary to sustain impact at scale.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been motivated by a simple question: How can I increase my impact for young people?” said Abby. “Joining StriveTogether is an opportunity to build on that journey by helping support communities nationwide and contributing to a movement focused on putting millions more young people on a path to economic mobility.”
Abby holds a bachelor’s degree in English and education from Angelo State University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. She is based in Dallas, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
