High School Parent Checklist

 

  • Investigate with your child the great variety of colleges, training, and programs available after high school.
  • Help your child enroll in classes that will prepare him or her for college.
  • Encourage your child to take part in school and community activities.
  • Help your child look for a career.
  • Be alert to standardized test schedule and requirements; help your student prepare for test day.
  • Save as much as you can for college, and start as early as possible.
  • Take advantage of financial aid opportunities by being as well-informed as possible.
  • Help your student meet deadlines for papers and applications.
  • Listen to your child, and be persistent in seeking solutions to problems.
