Senior Manager of Learning

Davida Ogbar is senior manager of learning, leading resource and tool development and supporting StriveTogether’s learning strategy.

As an industrial designer turned social innovator, Davida is passionate about working across disciplines to solve institutional and social issues through design thinking methodologies. She has worked for both corporate and private design companies to develop products that not only connect with consumer needs but also fit seamlessly into their lifestyles. Davida has helped plan and facilitate empathy building and design thinking workshops for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, United Healthcare, P&G, GE Aviation, Tri-Health Bethesda and 84.51.

Recently, she worked to develop products for inpatients at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and helped code, implement and test apps for teens with sickle cell anemia to manage their illness. She also has partnered with local entities to create communication tools that dismantle the trust barrier between social workers and low-income, minority, single mothers. While she has gained acclaim for her work in innovating for the underserved, she considers the relationships she has built along the way her chief accomplishment.

Davida received her bachelor’s degree in industrial design and master’s in design from the University of Cincinnati. She currently lives in Cincinnati with her husband and son.

Housing: As someone who grew up experiencing housing instability, I will always feel a deep empathy for youth and families who are unable to feel “at home” because of non-sustainable housing complicated by poverty, gentrification and injustice. In the work of economic mobility, there is value in the holistic sense of place and community, and this has a deep impact on the education of systemically disadvantaged populations.
