Eminet Abebe Gurganus is senior director of emergent learning at StriveTogether, responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to codify emergent learning.
Previously, Eminet was director of grantmaking at Connecticut Health Foundation, where she led the foundation’s grantmaking, evaluation and learning activities. Before joining the foundation, Eminet served as a health policy associate at the Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut, supporting efforts to improve pediatric care and early childhood services. She also held several roles at the Office for Community Child Health at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, developing and managing various community health initiatives.
Eminet has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Health from Yale University and is a PhD candidate in human development and family sciences at the University of Connecticut.
Most of my career has been focused on the health sector, and I often think about how the factors that drive inequities in health outcomes are the same ones that drive inequities in cradle-to-career outcomes. Working across sectors is thus critical to achieving equitable outcomes.
