Sonya Forg
Chief of Staff
Sonya joined StriveTogether in 2025 as chief of staff, where she supports the CEO in advancing the organization’s strategic priorities, managing key relationships and partnerships, leading planning for board of directors meetings and ensuring strong alignment across the executive leadership team.
Sonya brings more than 16 years of experience expanding access to opportunity through education. She began her career as a public school teacher in St. Louis. Most recently, she served as managing director of higher education partnerships at Braven, where she overhauled the organization’s higher education strategy and launched a National Faculty Council, strengthening partnerships at both the local and national levels. Sonya also managed 30 school and district partnerships at Teach For America–Southwest Ohio with a focus on driving results in dynamic and evolving environments.
She holds a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in electronic media from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. In her free time, you can find Sonya cheering on the sidelines at one of her three kids’ soccer, gymnastics or volleyball games.
