Accounting Specialist
As an accounting specialist for StriveTogether, Dawn Mathis provides a range of accounting and administrative support for the organization’s operations and programs.
Dawn brings to her role 20 years of experience in finance, human resources and payroll administration. Before joining StriveTogether, Dawn served as the controller for an art consulting company. Her previous role with Shelterhouse, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, helped Dawn discover her passion for nonprofit work.
Dawn earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a focus in finance and human resources, from American InterContinental University. She volunteers for a professional training and leadership organization called Pathways to Successful Living and is an advocate for social justice, abuse survivors, the arts, gifted student services and special needs children. In her spare time, Dawn loves reading, remodeling her home, enjoying live music, dancing, hula hooping, hiking, gardening and being with her two kids and dogs.

What is a place that shaped you, and how does it give you purpose?
A place that has shaped me is French Park in Cincinnati. I’ve been going there since I was a child. The area helps me align with my purpose because I can wander the trails and woods in any kind of mood and come back feeling refreshed, relaxed and focused.
